Mata I Coloma

A dozen years ago, Pere Mata, confident in his skills in making cava for other producers, finally created his own winery.  His aim is to produce wines as close as possible to Champane using Penedés’ indigenous grapes: macabeo, parellada and xarel-lo.  Pere Mata experiments a lot with different blends, oak barrels, and extended ageing.  He bottles a dizzying array of cuvees of which, at the moment. These two stood out.
